Ingredients
Active ingredients (per 5 mL or 1 teaspoon):
Acetaminophen 160 mg — relieves pain and reduces fever
Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 15 mg — nasal decongestant
Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 7.5 mg — suppresses cough
Chlorpheniramine Maleate 1 mg — antihistamine
Inactive ingredients: Butylparaben, carboxymethylcellulose sodium, citric acid, FD&C red no. 40, flavoring, glycerin, high fructose corn syrup, microcrystalline cellulose, polysorbate 60, propylene glycol, sodium benzoate, sorbitol, water, xanthan gum.
Dosage and Uses
This medicine is intended for short-term relief of mild to moderate aches, fever, chills, sore throat pain, nasal congestion, dry cough, runny nose, and sneezing caused by the common cold.
Instructions for use:
Do not exceed the recommended single or total daily dose (refer to liver warnings). Taking too much may cause serious harm.
For children aged 6 to under 12 years: Shake the bottle well before use. Follow dosing directions carefully. Remove the cap and squeeze the medicine into the provided measuring cup. Administer 10 mL (2 teaspoons) every 4 to 6 hours as needed, but do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.
Warnings and Precautions
Liver warning: Acetaminophen can cause severe or potentially fatal liver damage if your child:
Takes more than the recommended amount within 24 hours
Uses other products containing acetaminophen at the same time
Signs of liver damage may include yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, sweating, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, unusual tiredness, or loss of appetite.
Allergy alert: Acetaminophen might cause serious skin reactions such as redness, blisters, or rash. If these occur, stop use immediately and seek medical help.
Do not use:
With other products containing acetaminophen or other cold, cough, pain, or fever medicines. Check with a doctor or pharmacist if unsure.
If your child is allergic to any ingredient in this product.
For children under 6 years old.
If taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) used for depression or Parkinson’s disease, or within 2 weeks of stopping MAOIs.
Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if your child:
Metabolizes drugs slowly or takes other medications like warfarin, sedatives, or tranquilizers.
Has liver, kidney, heart, thyroid disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, urination problems, persistent cough from asthma, mucus-producing cough, breathing difficulties, or chronic lung disease, as these may indicate serious conditions.
While using this medicine:
Drowsiness or excitability may occur. Sedatives or tranquilizers can increase drowsiness.
Avoid activities requiring full alertness.
Stop use and consult a doctor if:
Symptoms persist beyond 5 days.
Fever lasts more than 3 days.
Sore throat pain continues beyond 2 days.
Your child experiences nervousness, dizziness, insomnia, new or worsening symptoms, high fever (above 38°C), or thick yellow/green mucus. Possible side effects include allergic reactions, breathing difficulties, convulsions, drowsiness, hallucinations, or rapid heartbeat.
Keep out of reach of children.
In case of overdose: Call Poison Control or a doctor immediately. Prompt medical attention is crucial even if no symptoms are present.
